Moussa Dembélé agrees to join Al-Ettifaq

According to both Fabrizio Romano and Foot Mercato, former Lyon striker Moussa Dembélé has reached an agreement in principle to sign with Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq. The Frenchman is now a free agent after the expiry of his contract at the Groupama Stadium on the 30th of June, after a five-year spell.

The 27-year-old had attracted interest from Galatasaray and Everton in the past and rejected the opportunity to sign for Southampton in January, and is now set to join up with Steven Gerrard in the Gulf state. The Saudi Pro League club also look set to secure the services of Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson for a fee of £12m.

There are still some final details to conclude before a deal can be completed, but Dembélé is expected to be playing in Saudi Arabia next season. The former Celtic forward made 28 appearances for OL last season, scoring 3 goals.
