PSG ‘are in talks to hijack Man Utd move for Hojlund

PSG are hoping to hijack Manchester United’s move for rising Danish star Rasmus Hojlund.

The French giants have reportedly entered talks to sign the Atalanta striker right under Erik ten Hag’s nose.

United are in desperate need of a new No 9 and have identified Hojlund as their top target to fill the void.

However, concerns over Atalanta’s £86million asking price for the player have slowed negotiations.

Now, PSG have entered the race and the Ligue 1 champions are willing to explore different avenues to meet the Italian side’s bumper valuation.

According to RMC Sport’s Sacha Tavolieri, PSG have offered Hugo Ekitike as part of a swap-deal-plus-cash for Hojlund.

Atalanta are said to be keen admirers of the 21-year-old and were planning on making an offer for him providing Hojlund left Gewiss Stadium this summer.

The latest development puts the Red Devils on the backfoot for the first time since they agreed personal terms with the Denmark International earlier this month.

United had attempted their own player-plus-cash deals but Atalanta rejected the opportunity to snap up Fred and Mason Greenwood (on loan).

They will now be forced to put up the cash or pull out as PSG apply significant pressure.
