Marc Cucurella drops major Moises Caicedo transfer hint as Chelsea prepare third bid

Chelsea transfer news: Moises Caicedo is wanted by the Blues and Marc Cucurella could be set for a key role in bringing the midfielder to Stamford Bridge

With Caicedo now pushing for the move, Chelsea could have their own representative in the race after Cucurella’s comments on Caicedo. Speaking ahead of the Blues facing Wrexham on Wednesday in North Carolina, the 24-year-old was questioned on what the 21-year-old would bring to Chelsea and his reply was telling.

“All of the team are working very hard to get what we want. I don’t want to speak about specific names. Like us, many clubs are working to sign a player to improve their team.” Chelsea have already confirmed the arrivals of Kendry Paez, Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, Dujuan Richards, Alex Matos, Diego Moreira, Ishe Samuels-Smith and Angelo Gabriel, however only Nkunku and Jackson look primed to immediately impact the first-team picture.

“We are so happy with the way they are working. We need to work during this pre-season to be a really strong squad and then to evolve in the way we want to play and to apply the concept we expect from then.”
