Manchester United welcome back Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro and Marcus Rashford

Manchester United’s international stars have returned to Carrington for pre-season training after enjoying extended breaks.

United have been in training for over a week now with their first game held last week as they beat Leeds 2-0 in Norway in their opening game of the summer.

Non-internationals such as Mason Mount, Raphael Varane and Tom Heaton played in the game which saw youngsters Noam Emeran and Joe Hugill net in the second half to give Erik ten Hag’s side the win.

They will continue their campaign against Lyon on Wednesday before heading to the United States for games against Arsenal, Wrexham, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.

The likes of Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro and Marcus Rashford were all pictured heading into Carrington on Saturday as they made their returns to the club for inital testing before getting stuck into the action.

Fernandes was part of Portugal’s squad that beat Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iceland in their latest European qualifiers, scoring twice against the former.

Rashford, meanwhile, played half an hour in England’s 4-0 win over Malta and just under an hour of the 7-0 victory over North Macedonia, scoring on the stroke of half time.

Casemiro played the full 90 minutes as Brazil beat Guinea 4-1 before being an unused substitute during his side’s 4-2 loss to Senegal in the middle of June.

Club captain Harry Maguire was also present, arriving in his range rover, as doubt continues over his future with the Red Devils.

Maguire played 90 minutes in both of England’s European qualifiers. but he is expected to play a minor role in United’s season as they look to continue to progress under Ten Hag following their return to Champions League football.

Maguire’s club and country team-mate Luke Shaw was all smiles as he arrived at Carrington, while Christian Eriksen cut a more reserved figure as he walked into the complex.

Also present for the first time were Tyrell Malacia, and Diogo Dalot, who were with the Netherland and Portugal respectively over the break.
