Tottenham Hotspur eye Lille’s Jonathan David as potential Harry Kane replacement

With his 24-goal season inevitably attracting interest from abroad, Lille striker Jonathan David may be on his way to securing the Premier League move he has reportedly been looking for.

According to today’s L’Équipe, Lille are looking to sell the Canadian international this summer. David has several prospective destinations open to him.

One would be a move to Napoli to replace another former Lille striker in Victor Osimhen, should the Azzurri‘s Scudetto hero leave this year. Tottenham Hotspur are also keeping an eye on him as a potential Harry Kane replacement, with Bayer Munich pushing to sign England’s all-time top scorer. Another London club in Chelsea have recently made an enquiry, with Les Dogues setting their asking price at €60m.

Yesterday, the club’s president Olivier Létang had indicated that the 23-year-old was undergoing medical tests, as scheduled, ahead of his return for pre-season training, as were the team’s other internationals. He recognised that “the door is open” for a transfer, but that they “are not looking to sell him at all costs” – “it will all depend on our ability to replace him. We won’t sell him on August 25.”
