Pulisic handed green light to complete transfer as Chelsea agree $23m deal

Chelsea transfer news: AC Milan are one of many teams interested in Christian Pulisic this summer and their move for Ruben Loftus-Cheek could hint at a potential deal

Christian Pulisic may be about to taken an enormous step toward ending his disappointing time at Chelsea.

The 24 year-old has been strongly tipped to leave the Blues this summer as part of Todd Boehly’s third revamp of the playing squad at Stamford Bridge. Pulisic’s contract is due to expire in 12 months meaning an exit is likely this year after he continued to struggle for regular game time last season.

Pulisic’s future continues to remain unclear. Recent reports have insisted that Chelsea’s asking price of £25 million ($31.8m) has put clubs off, though it’s thought the Blues’ stance on the wantaway forward will soften as the window drags on.

The decision to part ways with the duo left any transfers involving the Rossoneri and Chelsea in limbo. Fortunately for both clubs, the Italian giants have resolved matters and have made their first move.

Business between the two clubs isn’t expected to stop there. Chelsea still hold an interest in goalkeeper Mike Maignan as Mauricio Pochettino continues to target a new number one, while Pulisic remains on AC Milan’s radar.

Loftus-Cheek’s imminent move to Italy means Milan’s proceedings are in order. The next task now is to negotiate a fair deal for Pulisic. Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed Milan want to spend €15m ($16.1m), half what Chelsea are seeking for the United States star.
