Bayern set to make 2ND offer for Kane after opening £60m bid was firmly rejected

Bayern Munich are lining up a second spectacular bid for Harry Kane after their initial £60million swoop was firmly rebuffed.

Mail Sport revealed this week that Harry Kane is open to joining the Bavarian powerhouse and it has been reported that he has ‘reached an agreement in principle’ with the club.

Spurs are adamant that their talisman is not going anywhere and in some scenarios would rather lose him for free next summer when his contract expires than sell him.

But his German suitors are gearing up to bid again, according to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sport Germany.

They believe they can secure his signature for a fee in the region of £86m and have made the 29-year-old their top striking target.

It is thought that a fee in the £90-£100m range would test Spurs’ resolve.

The England captain has 213 goals to his name, just 47 south of Alan Shearer’s long-standing record, and at his current rate of scoring he could surpass that comfortably within a couple of seasons.

But that record is not believed to be the deciding factor in the deal and the allure of leading the line at Thomas Tuchel’s side, who won their tenth consecutive league title this season, might appeal to a man who many think should start filling his empty trophy cabinet.

Kane is still yet to win silverware at Spurs, despite being a Premier League runner-up, Champions League runner-up, and three-time Premier League Golden Boot winner.

Manchester United’s prospects of signing him look like they are fizzling out.

Erik ten Hag’s side asked Kane to put in a tranfer request as a last-ditch plea to get the cogs turning but the uncompromising Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is unlikely to let his prized asset go anywhere, let alone to a league rival, unless he rakes in a premium fee.
