TAUNT : ‘A good fight of two losers’ – Oleksandr Usyk’s manager Egis Klimas mocks Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua after Gypsy King claimed all-British fight could still happen
Oleksandr Usyk’s manager Egis Klimas has made fun of Tyson Fury’s suggestion that he could fight Anthony Joshua next year instead of the Ukrainian.
In the aftermath of Usyk’s rematch win over AJ, he has called for an undisputed showdown with Fury.
The Gypsy King has insisted that he wants the fight in December though and so accused his rival of ‘running away’ for saying he won’t return until 2023.
Usyk has explained that he suffered a recurrence of old injuries against AJ and wants to spend time with his family, hence the delay.
In the meantime, Fury has stated that he intends to have another fight this year regardless.
He even said AJ could be a future opponent for him before Usyk is.
Fury told BT Sport: “I still think, even though he’s lost three of his last five fights, I still think people would like to see that fight.
“So if Oleksandr Usyk can’t be ready and doesn’t want the fight for whatever reason – a middleweight against a giant behemoth heavyweight, I could understand why he doesn’t want it.
“If that fight doesn’t happen, then we’ll go and offer AJ the fight.”
These comments quickly reached the Usyk camp, with manager Egis Klimas replying on social media.
Klimas tweeted in response: “After Oleksandr Usyk will win against Tyson Fury, yes, I believe it will be a good fight of two losers to find out who is better.”
