Eddie Hearn says he will be legally pursuing Jarrell Miller for money owed from his fight with Anthony Joshua that fell through due to ‘Big Baby’ failing multiple drug tests

It has been over three years since Jarrell Miller missed out on the biggest fight of his career against Anthony Joshua and it seems he is still feeling the repercussions today.

In 2019, ‘Big Baby‘ was the chosen opponent for Joshua’s grand unveiling to an American audience at Madison Square Garden.

The fight quickly fell apart, however, after Miller failed multiple drugs tests and he was replaced by Andy Ruiz Jr, who went on to pull off one of the biggest upsets in the history of boxing.

Miller was subsequently banned from boxing and Hearn and Joshua were understandably not pleased with the American for attempting to cheat his way to victory over his British rival.

Three years have now passed and Miller is back in the ring, having recorded back-to-back victories in the last few months, but as much as he would like to erase that previous blip from his career, it seems there are some who are not yet willing to forget, as Hearn recently spoke out on the DAZN Boxing Show.

“We paid him an advance but the clause in the contract which is you failing a drug test means you repay that advance,” Hearn explained.

“That will be dealt with legally in due time, but I like Jarrell. I was very fond of him and that’s why I fought so hard to not just give him a payday, it was a f****** monster payday to fight Joshua.

“I’m talking about millions, of millions, of millions of dollars. It just doesn’t sit well with me, what he did to try and beat, get an unfair physical advantage over Joshua.”

Since then, Joshua has moved on to bigger and better things, regaining his unified heavyweight world titles in the rematch with Ruiz Jr, before knocking out Kubrat Pulev in his follow up fight.

Now, Joshua is looking to crown himself unified heavyweight champion of the world once again, as he takes on Oleksandr Usyk in a rematch.

In the first fight, Usyk masterfully outboxed the Brit, but this time Joshua has insisted that he will be returning with a new game plan and he has even branded himself as the ‘comeback king’.

Joshua and Usyk will clash on August 20 in Saudi Arabia and the fight has been billed as the ‘Rage on the Red Sea’.
