Anthony Joshua’s lookalike double meets Oleksandr Usyk after filming with AJ in Saudi Arabia to promote August rematch

Anthony Joshua’s body double went behind enemy lines to ask for a photo with Oleksandr Usyk during promotional filming in Saudi Arabia last week.

The heavyweights met for the first time since their fight last September at a press conference to preview their upcoming rematch on August 20 in the Middle East.

Usyk and Joshua shared a long face-off at the presser and went out into the city of Jeddah for promotional filming the next day.

First stop was the King Abdullah Sports City stadium.

Here, AJ filmed a few shots while also enlisting his body double.

The lookalike was used to save time and film the shots for which AJ’s face was not needed.

“Have you seen the body double?” Joshua said on Matchroom’s YouTube behind the scenes video.

“We’ve worked with him a lot, he’s a good guy. He’s from Brummie.

“I could tell you all the things he’s been in that you wouldn’t even [realise].

“He’s been with Lynx, he’s been with Under Armour, he’s been with Lucozade, a Nigerian programme, Saudi now.

“We use him a lot, he’s a cool guy.”

Later in the day, AJ and Usyk reunited at a square where they filmed some shots together in a boxing ring.

Joshua’s body double was seemingly not needed for this, but went along anyway as part of the crew.

But they then posed for a picture together

At one point, he approached Usyk’s team, who seemingly asked if he was also a boxer.

He explained: “No, no, I’m a banker.”

Usyk then posed for a comical picture with Joshua’s body double and the pair went their separate ways.
